Influenster Summer Beauty VoxBox 2012

Hawaiian tropic silk hydration lotion sunscreen SPF 30:
when opening this product the smell of coco butter was pretty strong. My significant other found it very unpleasant, I however loved the smell. I wouldn't recommend wearing perfume with this product because the scents may clash. I was impressed at how smooth it made my skin feel and that it is non greasy. Since it is also a sunscreen, skin is smooth and protected. This is great if you already have a light sun burn because it feels so soothing on the burn while protecting you from future burns. This product is water resistant for 80mins which is great for the beach, and the skin hydration lasts for 12 hours ( that's just fantastic!). Hawaiian tropic silk hydration lotion sun screen protects from UVA and UVB rays, and is available in 30 and 50 SPF. I will defiantly be buying the full size product.

Quaker soft baked bar in banana nut bread:
What caught my eye when I first saw this product was all the big bits of almonds on top of the bar. When iiopening it up it smells like a home baked good. It tastes just like banana bread but it is soft and chewy. The almonds add the perfect amount of crunch. These bars are 140 calories, 5 grams of fiber, 20% daily value of 5 B vitamins, and 6 grams of protein. Fat 3.5 grams and 26 grams of carbs. Overall it is a healthy breakfast bar, can be heated up, and great to have in your purse on the go. I already bought a box of these.

Sally Hansen nails and cuticles hand Crème:
This product has a really nice and fresh lemon smell. It is super soft on the skin, and made my cuticles feel softer after just one use. This product is made with Shea butter and promises 24 hour moisture. I can say may hands felt softer for about 12 hours, through dish washing, and changing my son. It definitely prepared my hands for the manicure I was about to give myself.

Tampax And always radiant collection:
I have to say I love love love the little bag that these products came in, it can pass as a makeup bag if you are adamant about hiding your feminine care products. The always radiant infinity pad, while I don't have my period right now, seems really decent. It's seamless, offers 4xs the protection, and is a good size. The scent of the pad is also a pleasant one. The always radiant incredibly thin liners seem like they would go perfect on those days where you fear going through your tampon. It would offer that little bit of extra protection without being bulky. The two tampax radiant plastic tube tampons, are regular tampons with one extra advantage. These tampons have a resealable flap that allows you to dispose of your used tampon in the new tampon bag and close it up. It's more sanitary and less embarrassing. I am very happy about his product and will be purchasing it.

Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color in Ionic Indigo:
I have wanted to try this polish since I first heard about it and i am glad i finally got the chance. The way this nail polish works is you start out with a base coat of clear polish, then you add one thin coat of Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color and let that dry. Make sure you shake your bottle up good so that the magnetic particles are evenly spread. Now this has to be done nail by nail, each nail receives a thick coat, right after you finish the coat you hold the magnet over your nail for about 10 seconds. You do this for each nail and a pretty little design appears. I love that this is so different. I love how it goes from dark to light on the nail. I feel like this would be perfect for everyday wear and is subtle enough for even wearing to work (as compared to effect polishes such as crackle which doesn't always come off as professional looking). I look forward to buying the other colors from this line.

Clear Scalp & and Hair Therapy:
Let me just start off with this stuff smell amazing. Even before using this product i was already in love with it. This product promises stronger hair in just 7 days, while it hasn't been 7 days quite yet i have begun to see a difference in my hair. My hair is usually thin, weak, and pretty lifeless. I used this shampoo and conditioner just twice and things seem to be looking up for my hair. So if it can work on my terrible hair i am sure it will do wonders for you girls out there that have medium to good hair. I suggest that you apply the conditioner to your ends and work up to your roots so if you do have oily hair it only attacks the problem ends.
I look forward to buying the full sized product of this.

The Look Bag - June Look Bag Review

The look bag is a monthly subscription service that delivers delux and full sized samples to your door in cute organza bags every month for 10 dollars with free shipping.This is my first bag and i am so excited to share my experience with you all.

 

June's bag contains the following:
Atopalm, which is a really nice smooth moisturizer. Feels soft on the skin. Has a slightly mint like smell. Not sure if I would buy the full version of this but it was nice to try.

Snowberry, a cell regeneration night cream. I didn't notice a difference in my skin but it did feel pretty nice. I probably won't buy the full version of it.

 

  

Korres eyeshadow in 66 pink, a nice frosty pink. Goes on smooth. Since it is made with sunflower and primrose oils it feels less like a pressed powder and more like a cross between a powder and a cream. I love how velvety it feels, and the color payoff. I will buy this product.

Prescriptives lip and eye pencil sharpener. Simple sharper I love the attachment that helps keep the pencil in place. My eye liner pencil came out pretty sharp and defined from using this.

Naked Princess body soufflé in vanilla Blanc, the packaging on this product is adorable, smells amazing- vanilla but not over powering, and feels soft on the skin. I will buy the full size version of this.

Overall? I like this subscription service. Its not my favorite one so far, but it is seems worth the ten dollars for the eye shadow, naked princess, and sharpener alone.

I forgot to mention, their customer service is phenomenal. I received a tracking number that never tracked anything and never received my bag, i emailed and called and didn't get through. I was finally contacted by a customer service rep who not only fixed the problem and sent me a new one, but they sent it super fast, a new tracking number, and kept checking in to make sure i received it. So even if you have problems with this company they make sure to right a wrong!

July Julep Maven Bombshell Box Review

So this months Julep Maven box was filled with surprises. Fireball candy, a beautiful lip gloss, three amazing polishes, AND a voucher for a free polish all wrapped up in festive white paper with silver stars nestled in red white and blue package filler. 

Let me start with their polish. I received Kate, an opaque white, Chelsea, a mix of purples whites and blues, and America, red white and blue glitter with silver stars. I love all of these colours, but the glitter most of all because of how thick it is. Without wiping the brush when removing it from the bottle the glitter only needs one stroke to to deliver full coverage.

As for the lip gloss, I received, Zinnia, a sparkly plumb color, which felt wonderful on my lips, had a nice scent, and was a nice addition to the nail polishes I received.

As for the free nail polish voucher I am not sure which one to get since there are so many amazing colors any suggestions?

Hard candy glow all the way in deep tan

Today I am going to be reviewing Hard Candy's-Glow All The Way in Deep Tan.
I know I tend to stick with cosmetics but this body product is just worth mentioning! Hard Candy-Glow All The Way is a bronzer and self tanner. This non oily, non streaky, highly glittery self tanner is the most fantastic 2 in 1 body product I've seen in quite a long time. For about 8 dollars at Walmart, this item is a steal.

The color I decided to try is deep tan. I was a little skeptical it would be too dark for me since I am light toned, but it adjusted to my skin color (impressed!). Glow All The Way comes in shades that range from light gold to even a pink shade. This product can be used on the face and body.

What I personally l love about this bronzer/self tanner? It leaves skin sparkly and natural looking and smooth. No orange or over done undertones. The sparkles, which the tube says is 24 karat gold, lasts on the skin through sweat, sun, even lasted after an hour in the pool. There isn't anything that I don't like about this product.
Great for if you want a small, sun free tan, or just to sparkle.

Rimmel London Glam'eyes HD Review

Hey guys sorry about the hiatus. I am currently on vacation in Canada and when I come back I have so many products to share with you all! Today, though, I'm going to focus on a fabulous find from Rimmel London.

Let me just clarify, I have never liked Rimmel London cosmetics but this product has certainly changed my mind. Glam'eyes HD by Rimmel London is fantastic. I purchased 001 black cab, and 008 true union jack (this one I am the most excited about.)
Black Cab includes a bright shimmery white high lighter, a light metallic grey lid color, a dark grey metallic crease, and a nice sparkly metallic dark black for the outer corner. Each color is in their own separate part of the British flag. The back of the palette has instructions on which colors go where on your eyes. There is a 4 tipped sponge applicator, so if you don't happen to have brushes you can use this.
Now while I do love this palette since the colors are amazing for a smokey eye, are perfectly pigmented (not too pigmented that only the brave can wear, but also not under pigmented so that they show up beautifully on most skin colors), and since you have them all separate if you run out of one you have three other sections of the same color to use. (awesome!) Also the outer corner color doubles as a liner! Sparkly black liner, not just one but 4, yes please. There is plenty to use as both.
What's not awesome?
Well if you do decide to use makeup brushes rather than the sponge applicator you might wind up with more than one color on your brush since the colors are so close together and in very small sections. So I suggest sticking to the sponge applicator.
I personally use more lid color than highlighter color, I guess this can vary for different people so this might not even be a problem for other people, so the fact the the highlighter color is the most abundant is disappointing to me. On a positive note, when applying this palette for the first time I choose to use the highlighter as both a lid color and a highlighter (Black Cab). I believe it came out great.

As for the second palette , True Union Jack, this one has it's colors in a different order. The highlighter is a nice shimmery white, the lid color (most abundant) is a beautiful reddish-pink color), a bright navy blue for crease, and a dark metallic navy for the outer corner. Whether your American, Canadian, British, even French, you can use this palette patriotically or for just a colorful eye for the summer. It's a great selection of shades, and since each color is in its own separate part of the British flag you can use just the blues with white and use the pinkish color as a blush! I have yet to photograph the swatches of this so they will be added at a later date

My rating for this would be 4/5
Rimmel London has a great range of palettes for his product from shimmery browns, to purples, along with the other two shown here. With such a low price for high quality they are worth picking up. Only complaints, low amount of lid color in Black Cab and the difficulty of using makeup brushes in small color sections. Certainly worth adding to your collection.
