ELF Shimmer Lips Review and Swatches

I have the most amazing friend! My friend Krys bought me this fantastic gloss collection for Christmas. The ELF Shimmer Lips gloss set included a sheer nude, light pink, hot pink, and red gloss each filled with shimmer. While on the sheer side these glosses did make my lips shiny and shimmery. These had a light scent but no bad taste. Were not heavy on the lips.

 Peace-
Sheer shimmery nude. Adds just a bit of shimmer and is clear enough to let the natural pigmentation of the lip show though.

Joy-
Light sheer pink with light pigmentation. A little creamy looking on the lips.

Hope-
A hot pink shimmer gloss. While sheer it does deposit a bit of color on the lips.

Love-
A sheer red gloss. This shimmery red gloss looks beautiful on the lips and layered over red lipstick. I did not like that it settled into my lips but i still love how it looks!

Overall i loved this set and i am thankful my friend got it for me! <3

Clarins Gloss Prodige 05 Grenadine Review and Swatches

I bought this on a whim about a month ago. It wasn't something i was lusting over or something i even had my eye on. I happened upon it while simply browsing the Clarins site. I have never bought anything from Clarins before but heard it was a good brand so like the good Cosmeholic i am i went to check it out.

When i purchased this gloss it came with three samples. I liked being able to try out more new products with this. I did not post them here since i have not tried all of them yet. When i got 05 Grenadine Gloss Prodige in i really liked the gold top and was stunned at how shimmery the gloss actually was. Now i really do not like sheer glosses especially when they have a higher price tag on them so i was hoping for a bit of pigmentation from this bright almost coral pink gloss.

 I found it to have the perfect amount of pigmentation and liked that it did not feel heavy on the lips. I felt this product could be worn alone or over a liner or even a similar shaded lipstick. This gloss did not bleed and was very easy to apply. There is a noticeable amount of microglitter but it does not feel grainy. This gloss has no sticky texture and lasts about 2 hours on the lips before you need to reapply.

Overall i like Clarins Gloss Prodige 05 Grenadine. It has great quality and is something that will get a lot of use by me. I appreciate that it is pigmented and can be worn alone but i also appreciate that it is not heavy and can be worn over other lip shades. Can be found at www.clarins.com

When i received my Ipsy bag for the month of October i got to try this great product that was a hybrid of lip gloss, lip stick, lip stain, and lip lacquer called a Lip Bomb by Mirenesse. I was so in love with this revolutionary product that i had to go and purchase (nearly) all of them! Mirenesse Lip Bombs have a smooth and creamy formula that glides on the lips effortlessly. The applicator is a uniquely shaped sponge that allows you to define your lips while also filling them in. The application is highly pigmented and rich in color without feeling thick or sticky on the lips. You can blot these to produce a more matte appearance otherwise these will stay glossy on the lips for hours. I did not experience feathering since these are thicker than an average lip gloss, however, i did experience some color depositing with some of the lighter shades. When i pressed my lips together and then then opened them there was a thin line of color, which looked a little thicker. This doesnt last long though, after about an hour of wear this problem was no longer an issue. I would suggest applying the lighter shades just a little thinner. While wearing these my son accidentally hit me in my lip area and this product did not budge and kept it's shine! This is a high quality product that will leave you with lucious, colored, high shine lips that will last all day.

This shade is slightly different from the rest in that it is meant to be layered over other lip bombs to lighten or highlight them. Great for ombre lips.

I have to be honest, i am not a huge fan of lip gloss. I always find so many things wrong with so many different formulas that i often hate the gamble. I have recently discovered a few good brands that i have been sticking to. One brand that i tried recently is Milan Rowe Plush Lipshine.

Milan Rowe Plush Lipshine in Posh Kiss is a high gloss, high shine, mineral base lip gloss. This gloss is everything it is described on the Milan Rowe website. It is highly pigmented and shimmery. Described as a grape pearl shade but i feel this can lean pink/red/purple depending on your skin tone, and lip color. On light skin such as mine with naturally pinkish/red lips this gloss appears to lean in towards a deep pink color. I love how this gloss is a great color all on its own, but i also love that it can be layered over a red, purple, or pink lipstick to give it a richer and more multi-demential shade. Since this product is mineral based it leaves lips feeling soft and moisturized, so this is great if your lips are prone to drying and cracking. I did not find this product to bleed but i did find it to slightly feather. A little clear liner would fix this problem. Has a soft scent, not over powering, non sticky.
