For the month of February, The Big Pink Box went all out, or so i
thought. Touted as one of the most valuable boxes i was pretty psyched
to receive my box. I ordered both of the boxes for this month since i do
love a good surprise. While overall both boxes were a flop there were
some great items in each. Of the two February boxes this box had the lowest value and the worst products i have seen yet in this subscription.
The theme of this valentines day decorated box was "Take Yourself Out". Unlike box 1, this boxes products did not overall fit the theme. It felt like a bunch of left overs were thrown in this box. I would have been happier to see just box 1 for the month. It also would have helped if it wasn't hyped up. There would have been less disappointment. From cheap buttons to a poorly made headband this box just falls flat.
What i received-
Dangerous Designs-
This lip balm (? i am not even sure) which smells deliciously of pineapples and aptly named Iced Pineapple was one of the better items in this box. From the cute heart sticker which shows personality to the easy to open tin this product is now a staple in my purse. Smooth and great for chapped lips.

Bubble Babez Bath Bomb Cupcake-
Yet another delicious bath treat from Bubble Babez. This item is another item that helps redeem this box. This cute little cupcake turns an ordinary bath into an escape with a great scent and skin soothing properties you cant help but treat yourself to this product
www.bubblebabez.com
Crown BeYouty Bastet Hair Butter-
While i have no real qualms about this product i really wouldn't consider it a product that i am treating myself with or taking myself out with. It does make hair feel soft and not oily. I like the texture. I just feel like it didn't go well with the theme. The all natural ingredients were nice though.
Design Thrifty Boutique-
These metal camo hoop earrings are cute. I feel they are quite out of place in the theme of this box but none the less nice. I liked that they were not heavy and did not irritate my ear.

Evokee Bamboo Polish Face Scrub By EEM Collection-
I was a little scared by this title to be honest. It turns out this product is a gem though. Follow the instructions for a baby soft face and it really works.
Evokeelegance.com
Pretty Girls Club-
The kiss button is cute, i wont lie, but i have not worn pins since middle school. I do not know how they fit in treating myself... or taking myself out. They have sat in a box since February... i am not sure if they will ever come out.
Three Heartz Headband-
I used to love wearing headbands like this when i was a teenager. A three pack cost 5$. This very lose headband which constantly slips from my head is selling for $14. I laughed a bit, and bit this in the box with the buttons.Perhaps if it wasn't such a cheap piece of material or had my stretch i wouldn't be so critical of it, but it honestly is just that... a cheap piece of material.

Overall this box was very unified. With products that were a waste of time, i was shocked at how hyped up February was. I could not even bring myself to blog about it until now in fear that i would be way too harsh on it. While some items were nice this box was not worth it.
While this box may have been a flop, most of the monthly The Big Pink Box are awesome. If you would like to support women owned business you can sign up here for $25 (includes shipping).

The Big Pink Box February 2013 Box 1
For the month of February, The Big Pink Box went all out, or so i thought. Touted as one of the most valuable boxes i was pretty psyched to receive my box. I ordered both of the boxes for this month since i do love a good surprise. While overall both boxes were a flop there were some great items in each. My box 1 did arrive damaged but this was only a minor issue. This box was the better of the two.
The theme of this valentines day decorated box was "Take Yourself Out". The products, i feel, did fit this theme quite nicely. From nail polish to bath products and even a candle you could relax and treat yourself right with these products.
I found the pink heart tissue paper to be a nice touch.
What i received-
B.A.A.B.S- Shot glass and shadow. ($7)
This product did arrive damaged but the kind owner was nice enough to send me a replacement. The shadow, Diced Pineapple, is a gorgeous shimmery yellow that reflects just slightly green. Its stunning on the eye and is very pigmented. Included was a recipe for making a drink also called Diced Pineapples. Makeup and drinks, count me in!

Wicket Polish- Cardiac Arrest- (15$)
This red glitter bomb is to die for. This polish is a red base with tons of hexagon holographic glitter pieces. Applies evenly and dries fast.

Minor Candlelight (Plus Amethyst stone)- ($10)
This candle smells way more amazing than i would have expected. It has a very rich and citrus smell and rivals some of my bath and body works candles.
Gritt Studs- ($15)
Not a fan of studs but these retro leopard print earrings really make a statement! I like that they were not even on my ear and gave me a reason to pull my hair back.

Bubble Babez - ($10)
I have seen a lot of this brand through The Big Pink Box and honestly i can not complain. I have loved everything so far and even though this duckie arrived broken, it was just fine by me. This pomegranate bubble bath bar made for the most lavish bath experience after a long day. My skin felt so soft and smelled great.

Tnemnroda Midi Ring- (35$)
I was not sure about this item at first. This ring is gold plated and looks like a tiny little crown. It fits right on the middle of the finger. Though i love how this looks it constantly falls off my finger. Some of the plating has rubbed off, so it is not a high quality item, but it is certainly pretty to wear for a photo.
Overall not as great as it was touted to be but also not terrible. I liked a lot of the items in this box but found their price points just a little off. The Big Pink Box March 2013 Review
Welcome to the 6 month anniversary of The Big Pink Box! In the past 6 months (despite some seriously bad boxes), this subscription has been great! Experiencing new brands, falling in love with new products, and all without having to scour the internet for the best new items. Really though, aside from all the fun, it is about supporting women owned business. Women enjoying the products of other hard working women. Even if your eyes don't always like the products your soul knows you did something good by supporting these women over going to forever 21 or bath and body works. So cheers The Big Pink Box and Amber Rose. I look forward to many more months with you and cant wait to see what you offer up next!
As a bonus this month all The Big Pink Box subscribers got this cute The Big Pink Box tote. What better way to go green (... err pink) than to carry around a pink tote as you shop! Though thin it is quite sturdy and makes a great bag to take to the gym or even to go clothes shopping.. from independent women owned boutiques of course!
Inside the tote, wrapped in black and white hounds-tooth tissue paper, were all the items for the month of March.
Live In Fashion- www.liveinfashion.com
When i first saw this coiled up piece of metal it reminded me of a slinky. Once i realized it was a bracelet i kind of got excited. I honestly do not own one piece of jewelry that looks like this. When it is open it reminds me of a bangle and when it is closed it looks like a slinky on my wrist. I find wearing it both ways cute and i have gotten quite a few "WHERE DID YOU GET THAT FROM"(s).
Curls - www.curls.biz
This is the second time this product has been included and since i do not have curly hair i once again can not tell you much more about this product.
Sp3ctrum Cosmetics - www.sp3ctrum.com
This lip balm had me over the moon. It applied so soft and it was like my lips.. but better. I have heard of girls who found their perfect product that did that for them, and now i have found mine! International Jezebel is a warm nude shade with just the right amount of bronze shimmer. It lets your natural lip shade come through but makes your lips glossy and soft. This was a non sticky product yet lasted 2 hours before the need to reapply.
Mojo Coutour- www.mojocouture.com
These gold and pearl earrings are all class. Though they may only be costume jewelry they make any day a special occasion. With a chain of rhinestones they sparkle and the pearls just had a classic touch.
247 Fashion Plus- www.247fashionplus.storeenvy.com
I am not at all a fan of studs but these are pretty cute. Like above, these are also costume jewelry but they add a nice touch of class to any look.
Kiss My Wrist- www.kissmywrist.com
This is the third piece of jewelry i have received that is turquoise (i guess turquoise is big?) I love that each piece has veins of brown making it look a bit vintage or authentic. The sliver bead with rhinestones was a nice accent as well. This barecelet felt comfortable on the wrist and i felt stylish wearing it.
Bubble Babez - www.bubblebabez.com
What an adorable cupcake! This mini cupcake is actually a bath bomb. What better way, and even fat free!, to enjoy a cupcake after a long day. Take a nice soak in the tub with this high qaulity product.
Lastly this card for Naomi's Rose was included for no reason what so ever since it did not have an item attached to it. Since i could not sample anything from this brand and do not know the quality i have no interest in it. Pass.
Overall this was one of the better months and so, so, SO much better than the February flop! I can't wait to see what next month brings.
