MAC Fashion Sets Spring 2013

Just in case you missed the online release of MAC Fashion Sets for spring 2013, you're in luck! Nordstrom will be receiving this collection and it should be released on counters and in store on the 4th of April (same day it will be released on MAC counters).

Just a few tips for future collections:

1) collections are usually released online a week before in stores,

2) collections are usually released at 6am, 12pm, 6pm, and 12am est. so those are great times to start searching your desired product if the collection is not officially live yet.

3) keep an eye on blogs and Instagram. Follow the beauty addicts to be notified when the collections go live. A lot will alert you if you ask them to ( follow me at Recycledstardust, leave your comment and ill at you when collections go live)

4) if you happen to miss the item you wanted, wait for it to be released in store, on Macy's, Nordstrom, and even Bloomingdales websites. 

5) if all else fails find a reputable seller on eBay

Fashion Sets for 2013 Include lipstick, lip pencils, shadows, and polish in bold and modern shades. 

Eyeshadow:

Heroine- Bright cobalt blue (Matte), Ablaze- Mid-tone coral (Matte), Silly- Clean blue pink (frost), and Embrace Me - soft pink (satin)

 

Lipstick: (all matte)

Heroine- Bright violet purple, Ablaze- Bright apricot cream, Silly- Bright pink cream, and Embrace Me- Bright Fuchsia cream

Lipglass:

Heroine- Bright Purple, Ablaze- Bright orange, Silly- Bright pink, and Embrace Me- Bright Fuchsia. 

 

Nail Lacquer: (all cream finish)

Heroine- Bright Violet, Ablaze - Bright orange, Silly- Bright pink, and Embrace Me- Bright fuchsia.

 

Lip Pencil:

Heroine- Bright purple, Ablaze- Bright apricot, Silly- Bright pink, and Embrace Me - Vivid fuchsia pink.

I am a fan of MAC lipsticks for a reason, great quality, pigmentation, most aren't drying on the lips, and long lasting. When MAC released it's Pro colors online i had to pick up a few i was missing. Show Orchid and Violetta were top on my list.

Show Orchid-
This is an amplified shade in a very vivid hot pink. It has it bit of a shimmer iridescence to it. It is so slight but really makes this color beautiful. This shade stains the lips but lasts for about 5 hours through light eating and drinking. Is opaque and non streaky.

Violetta-
This is also an amplified shade in a bright violet purple with pink undertones. In some lights this shade will appear on the pink side where in other lights it can appear as deep purple as Heroine but is still a little lighter. This shade also has a slightly iridescent shine to it. Non streaky, opaque, non drying, will last about 4 hours through light eating and drinking.

Mac Heroine Matte lipstick Review

So a few months back Mac released the Reel Sexy collection. Meant to mimic the drama and fun of movies this collection is filled with colors that pop, for nails, lips, and eyes.

Now I was a little late to hear about this fantastic collection, but none the less, I picked myself up some Heroine. If there is one thing I can't pass up is purple lipstick and my lord is this purple. I am so relived to see so many companies jumping on this trend. In a future post I will discuss all your possible options for purple lipstick, from light and subtle to in your face violet.

This lipstick is incredibly smooth. Most mattes are a little chalky here or dying there, but not Mac. Their signature vanilla sent when opening the tube always excites me, but, long, easy wear is what keeps me coming back. This color lasted all day, and even when the undertones of this color began to show through (blueish), I was still pleased with the color, an my lips never felt dry. The color is very opaque and true to the tube. What you see is what you get on your lips.

I think of this as a color every adventurous, trendy, conservative rebel needs in their collection. For those that don't walk on the wild side It's daring, I know, but it very a very flattering color and with minimal makeup else wear on the face, and with minimal accessories even the meekest of the makeup goers can pull this one off!

Since its no longer available via the Mac cosmetics websites I suggest you check out your local Mac counter, eBay, or amazon. I wish you luck on your hunt for this fantastic color, and let's all hope for Heroine to one day be added into the permanent collection.

While on the more expensive side, their quality is amazing. I have mac lipsticks from 2006 that feel just as new as the day i got them. They are made to last.
