I cant even begin to tell you how much i fell in love with this product from the moment i saw it! In terms of formula this shadow does apply matte. When applied it can look a little chalky if built up too much but otherwise this product is smooth. The shadows are hard so they don't blend as well as higher end shadows but you can still get pretty creative on the lid. Over primer and on their own they are both very bright. Impressionist can be duped with Limecrime PALETTE D'ANTOINETTE.

Milani Nail Lacquer 3D Holographic Review and Swatches

I have to admit i feel like i was the last one to know about this polish! I have been so wrapped up in MAC collections and the holidays that i have been slaking on cosmetics and this blog in general. Either way, when i saw some of the great girls i follow on instagram with this polish i knew i had to pick up as much as i could of this collection.

This polish can be found at drugstores like Walgreen's and CVS but i had to purchase mine directly from the Milani website since no store by me carried it. The shipping was exceptionally fast and i was able to use a promo code making these just a little bit cheaper than the asking price. As for quality these are about what i would expect from Milani. It takes about 3-4 coats to have an opaque coverage, more if you want a more in depth holographic look. You can always apply a thin coat of white nail polish underneath to use less coats of the holographic polish. I wish this polish was just a little thicker. The color range is nice (silver, blue, pink, green...) and there is a decent amount of holographic pigment in each bottle, i personally would have liked more. Because some of these shades are thin you can pass them off as a light top coat over the corresponding color! These highly remind me of the Sally Hansen holographic polishes of the late 1990's and certainly brought back a slight sense of nostalgia. The pre-teen in me is proud to know she was a cosmeholic before her time!

This polish i had to apply over a white base. I felt this was one of the thinnest.

I had to apply this over a white base.

511-Hi-Tech
This is one of the thicker shades that did not require a white base.

513- Digital-
This shade was also thick enough to pass without a white base coat.

514- Hi-res
This shade was also thick enough to pass without a white base. I found this one to be the best of the above listed.

Overall i find this to be a beautiful collection of nail polishes. For drugstore polish i think these are pretty on point in terms of quality - not the worst but not fantastic. I think for 5 dollars (less in some stores) is decent. They have different uses- alone or as a top coat. Do not chip too fast. Could be a little thicker in terms of how much holographic pigment their is but it is acceptable! If you are willing to put in a little extra work these are great!

On Trend- Vampy Lips Drugstore Edition

I just wanted to apologize for my last post on Vampy Lip trends. I seemed to only focus on higher end cosmetics and i felt that was a little unfair to some. So this post will be dedicated to drugstore lipsticks for the Vampy Lip trend! Also i promise to be more even next time i make a trend post!



For Deep Plum- Rimmel London Lasting Finish Kate Moss 04-
This whole line is just fantastic. From the candy smell, high pigmentation, high opacity, and how long it lasts, this is just an A+ Lipstick. This dark purple is just enough to make a statement but not really washout those who are on the fair and light side.

For rich cherry red- Milani Black Cherry 11-
This shade has complete coverage. There is no streaking or bleeding and it will leave your lips feeling moisturized. It doesn't last all day but if you use a lip primer (like pixi line and prime) this will last much longer. This shade really stands out and because of how warm it is would work on most skin tones. With a price tag of only 3 dollars you cant help but pick this up.

 For Brown Red- Wet N Wild 917 B Cinnamon Spice-
This is a matte brick red shade. It isn't as deep of a brown up close but from afar on light skin it can appear to be just dark enough to go with the trend. On darker skins this may show up as a much lighter color, so maybe do a skin swatch before using this for the vampy shade. Since long wear can be a little drying maybe add a lip primer or some chapstick under this shade to keep your lips moisturized.

For a Deeper Red Brown- Wet N Wild 918 D Cherry Bomb-
This shade is a much richer version of the one above. It is darker in both the red and brown tones. It will definitly give you those blood red lips your looking for and since it is matte it has quite a bit of staying power. As mentioned above for more moisture use blam/chapstick or primer under this shade.

For Dark Gothic Purple- Wet N Wild 919B Vamp It Up
This shade is so dark it can appear black depending on the lighting. This is a shade that takes the trend of vampy lips seriously. This is also from the Wet N Wild mega last matte collection which has honestly taken me from spring to summer and now into fall. This shade like all the rest is matte, long lasting, and just a tiny bit drying. It is opaque and only very very slightly streaky but its so slightly that unless your always pressing your lips together you wont even notice.

COLOR PLAY Felt-Tip Liquid Pen Review and Swatches

I am an avid fan of eyeliner. I honestly feel like no look is complete with out a sleek defining line, whether it is classic black or bright blue, it is a necessity. When i noticed that Milani cosmetics released  Color Play Felt-tip Liquid Pen's, a limited edition collection,  in a beautiful range of colors i knew i had to have all of them. Best of all since Milani is a drugstore brand their prices are cheap enough to try them all! 

The pigmentation on these liners are phenomenal. I have a more expensive liner pen that doesn't delivery nearly this much opacity. The felt tip is soft but also sturdy. You can achieve an accurate line whether you are a novice or a veteran of eyeliner. These are perfect for winged eyeliner or even drawing on a cheetah or zebra print on to your eye lid! If you like to be creative these are a must have for your collection.

I must warn you to be careful over metallic shadows. This may be a pro for some and a con for others but these pens can pick up the metalic pigmentation in your shadow and will translate into the liner. Blue over silver becomes metalic blue, black over gold becomes a copper color. So if you want your liner to stay completely true to its color stay away from metallic or make sure to start your shadow above where you plan to place your liner. These remain opaque over all other liners.

From top to bottom- Pink Point, Gray Strokes, Jaded Edge, Blue Definition, White Line, and Black Line.

Milani Color Play Felt-Tip Liquid Liner pens come in the traditional color of black and then spice things up with pink, gray, green, royal blue, and even white! I recall wearing black eyeliner over white eyeliner in high school. Liquid white eyeliner at that time was watery and burned my eyelid. These are superior in quality of the liners of the past! If you are shy about adding color to your look this might be the best option for you. Adding a bit of pink eyeliner with simple mascara and lip gloss can really add just a little bit of drama to a very neutral look. Or layer them wearing black over white, pink over blue, or whatever combination you think looks best. Let each layer dry before applying one over it.
