MAC Glamor Daze Lipsticks in Beauty, Outragously Fun, and Dramatic Encounter Review and Swatches

MAC Glamor Daze Lipsticks in Beauty, Dramatic Encounter, and Outrageously Fun
From the moment i heard about MAC's holiday collections i was excited. So much to choose from- look bags, palettes, lipstick, eyeshadow, blush, all in beautiful packaging with inspiration from the 1960's. Each collection with amazing items to choose from. This review will focus on the 3 of the Glamor Daze Lipsticks in Beauty, Dramatic Encounter, and Outrageously Fun.

The glossy packaging is just a little different from the normal matte packaging. This is also reflected on the tubes which are a sleek, glossy, black even once the cap is removed. Even though the design is simple it matches perfectly with the other items of the Glamor Daze Collection.

Since each lipstick has a different finish i will be doing individual reviews.

Beauty (GLAZE)-
I am sure i have mentioned this so many times before, but i am more a fan of matte or amplified finishes  because i feel they look best on me. I went out on a limb and decided to get this shade because i felt- what is the point of a 60's inspired collection without a soft pink? I wasn't sure i would like this shade when applied because glaze shades can be streaky or show lip flaws. For this shade i found there to be light streaking but not so much when applying it but rather when pressing my lips together. I think this would be great if i already had a color base under it like Snob or Saint Germaine and use Beauty to make them softer and glossier. I liked the way the color did have good coverage, it was nearly opaque which i did not expect from a Glaze. This soft pastel pink is light but does not wash out light skin. I do find that it has decent pigmentation, and is what is expected of a glaze. If this shade was not in the Glamor Daze collection i probably would not have bought it and opted for the other colors mentioned.Does show some lip flaws.

Dramatic Encounter (Amplified Creme)-
This deep, rich, Burgundy like plum, was not as purple as i had hoped it might be. In terms of quality it is fantastic, richly pigmented, non streaky, opaque coverage, complimenting shade for most skin tones, not as dark as shades like Film Noir but still dark enough to live up to its dramatic name.

Outrageously Fun (Cremesheen)-
This shade is a blue based, creamy, hot pink. It gives complete coverage, opaque, non streaky, and very pigmented. I feel like this applied more like an amplified shade, so if you are looking for something a little sheerer, this isn't it. I did not find this shade too drying, but if your lips are prone to chapping apply lip balm underneath this.

Kiss Ever PRO Lash Starter Kit Review

Drama, drama, drama! And no i do not mean high school girls or reality tv! I am talking false lashes! The easiest way to get your eyes looking dramatic is to have thick, full, long lashes. If you are like me, you might not have been blessed with thick long lashes. So what to do? You can try voluminous mascaras or lash growing formulas, or you can just pick up Kiss Ever Pro Lash Starter Kit. I would recommend the latter.

Kiss Ever Pro Lash Starter Kit includes everything you will need for dramatic and full lashes. Even though product name says PRO, you do not need to be a Pro to apply these. With a hot pink, easy grip, lash tweezers, you can easily grasp the lashes to either put them on, or take them off.  I started to fret that they would be hard to remove from the plastic but there are slits that just perfectly lifts them up for easy grasping (i love companies that pay close attention to details!).
With Kiss Ever Pro Lash Starter Kit you don't even need to buy glue. You receive a generous amount of 24 hour flexible hold strip eyelash adhesive(13 g) . I liked that i was able to rub my eye (gently) and not have to worry about these lashes just popping off. So if you have slight allergies, or just tend to rub your eyes you wont have to worry as much about these lashes. I can't say for sure if it lasted 24 hours, but i did take a nap while my son was asleep and woke up with these lashes in tact. That made me exceptionally happy.

As for how to use Kiss Ever PRO Last Starter Kit you simply use your tweezers to gently lift the lashes from the plastic. Make sure to bend the plastic up so they are easier to remove. Once removed add a thin line of glue. Let sit for about 60 seconds until the lash glue is no longer white.  Gently use your lash tweezers to lift from the lash corner and apply over makeup or bare eye lids starting from the outside of the lash and going in. press gently and apply eye liner, or leave as as.

I am sorry if my eyes look very tired in these pictures, i was very exhausted. I had these lashes on all day and then took the picture. I felt this would give the most honest and realistic results. As you can see they are in tact and very full.

What i really loved? They did not feel heavy on my lashes. They were easy to remove with some makeup remover. They are reusable. They stay put all day. They were easy to apply.

Just a few tips
-Make sure to put them up to your eye to make sure they fit your lid, if not you can cut the excess off if too long, or place closer to the outer corner of the eye if they are too short.
-If you have trouble applying them straight, i recommend holding your lid straight and then applying. It prevents tugging on skin that may be scrunched up under it.
-If you are having trouble removing them, q-tips with a tiny drop of mild soap and warm water help to loosen the glue and don't damage the lashes.

Even though these are dramatic they aren't too wild. You can wear them to work, school, anywhere you please. I like to wear them to go to school, or run errands. If i am too lazy to do a whole look, placing some dramatic lashes can sometimes be all i need to look my best. You would be surprised at how much of a change these lashes can make to your beauty routine.

Yves Saint Laurent 5 Colour Harmony for Eyes 13 Spring 2012 Review and Swatches

Yves Saint Laurent's 5 Colour Harmony for Eyes in 13
I really splurged on this one! When i saw Yves Saint Laurent's 5 Colour Harmony for Eyes in 13 i fell head over heels. I love bright colored makeup, expecialy when it comes from a brand as classy and as glamourous as YS. This palette was released for the Spring 2012 collection and how suiting is it! These colors are very Spring, while it is almost fall, i like what i like. Season regardless, i love this!

I love the packaging on this palette. Reflective gold with the simple logo in the middle. Takes fingerprints badly but that is my only complaint. The internal mirror is huge so you can use it to really see what you are doing if you don't have a hand mirror available.

These candy colors are so shimmery (they somewhat remind me of Lime Crime's Palette D'Antoinette, see review here!) They aren't as opaque as i would have liked them to be but they do work well. This appears as a shimmer over dry skin and show up more pigmented over primer. These colors apply smooth, blend well together and with other products. These last all day over primer and there is no fallout. You can apply these with the sponge applicator included or with brushes. The range of colors is decent enough to make an array of different eye looks such as yellow on lid purple in crease or pink on lid, blue on crease, and purple on v. This palette makes it very easy to be creative.
