A while back while roaming around my local Rite Aid, on a bottom shelf, i found some Sinful Colors polishes. I have been a long time fan of this affordable polish that allows you to grow your nail polish collection, try out new colors, and not break the bank! So when i see something new from this brand i want to get my hands on it. These polishes were different from the normal Sinful color's in that they are magnetic. I have been a bit of a fan of this new polish craze but it seemed as though most companies were doing the same thing or very similar things. Sinful Color's take on the magnetic craze is snake skin. A woven, diamond shape, like design is supposed to mimic the pattern on a snakes skin. Many snakes have a bit of shimmer to their skin, so this polish is right on point. The best thing? The magnet is removable, like a ring, so you and use it on ANY magnetic polish you may already have! These polishes are a bit more expensive from the normal $1-$2 price range and are about $4.99 which is still about half the price of other brands.
In terms of quality, this brand delivers on what it offers. You see that picture on the side of the bottle, that is literally what you will be seeing on your nails. This is a company that shows you the real results and does not Photoshop or over exaggerate. I really appreciate that. Even if this company is now own by Revlon i like that it has maintained its roots.
Force Field-
This is a deep, rich, shade of forest green. When applied it looks exactly like it does in the bottle. It is true to color. This manicure is very simple to do. Apply a thin coat of polish to all nails, let dry. Apply a thick coat to one nail at a time, applying the magnet in between each nail. The second coat should be a little thicker then the first. When applying the thicker second coat and applying the magnet the area in the design will be darker then the imprints. This 3D manicure will give your nails a unique snake skin look.
Snake It Out-
This gold AND silver polish is both snake like and kind of just perfect for the holidays! This polish combines two metallic shades and makes it work! The light snake skin, 3D design is easy to create just follow the steps above. This manicure is true to the swatch that came with the bottle and was very simple to create. Dried fast, but not too fast, did not chip until 3 days later (i use my hands a lot since i have my son, should last longer on those that have longer nails and don't use their hands as much).
Overall i think this is a refreshing take on the whole magnetic look, i appreciate the company being honest about what it will look like when applied, and i like the overall design and look of this polish!

MAC Primped Out Lip Look Bag in Lavish Coral Review and Swatches
MAC Primped Out Lip Look Bag in Lavish Coral
Let me start by saying, this really didnt look like coral to me. If i had to describe this bag i would have described it as nude, fleshy, soft, pinkish tan. Not coral. This set includes a Cremesheen lipstick in Shy Girl, a half sized Lip Pencil in Boldly Bare, and a Cremesheen Glass in Kiss Me Softly. Of course these items were packed in a cute little pink and black plastic animal print, purse shaped makeup bag.

Boldly Bare Lip Pencil-
This nude pencil applied a bit darker then i expected (not a bad thing at all). If you are light skinned a nude lip liner that is a little darker or even a little pinker than your natural tone will help you from having your lips look washed out or having that "concealer" lip look. I applied this just on the outside of my lip line and fount this to really compliment both my lip color and my natural skin tone. I found this pencil to glide on smooth with no tugging. It can be used alone to fill out your lips for a matte nude look or to line your lips before a nude/pinky nude lip color.

Shy Girl (Cremesheen)-
This shade was packaged in the sleek, Glamour Daze, style tube which is all shiny black. This shade is a creamy and neutral beige. It applies creamy yet opaque and felt very smooth on my lips. I personally did not find this shade drying nor did it wear off for a good 4 hours through light eating and drinking. Because it is a soft beige i feel it could suit any skin tone and might go well with a smokey eye or even just a winged eye look to go with the vintage feel of this collection.

Kiss Me Softly Cremesheen Glass-
This creamy, milky, soft peach has a bit of shimmering pearl. Does apply on the sheer side but adds a nice shimmer to both bare lips and over a lipstick. I found this lip gloss smooth and non sticky. I loved the little bow tie on the side of the tube which goes with the theme of the Glamour Daze collection.

Zoya Limted Edition Gilty Pleasures Review and Swatches
Zoya Gilty Pleasures Limited Edition Box
I love a good limited edition product (though i wish this wasn't!) Zoya, one of the best nail polish brands I've encountered, has released a limited edition Gilty Pleasures box which includes an 18K gold top coat called Gilty along side a soft, creamy white - Purity and a deep, rich black with a slight silver undertone- Raven. While Zoya isn't the only brand to offer a real gold topcoat (see OPI The Man With The Golden Gun) it is the only brand to give you a little more bang for your buck Zoya Gitly Pleasures is $45 while OPI The Man With The Golden Gun is $30 for only one polish. It is all about preference I guess.
I loved how this box was packaged. Each polish is nestled into its own little cut out, while the box is black smei matte with Zoya in silver letters, the inside is black velvet. Its definitely a nice place to keep these polishes.

Zoya Gilty Pleasures Limited Edition Box Purity
Both Raven and Purity glide on opaque after only one swipe. I did have quite a few problems with purity. It was a bit thick, i didn't get even coverage, and i found it took forever to dry. Raven gave completely even coverage, dried quick, and did not have any of the problems of Purity.
Included was a nice little booklet of possible ways to use the Gilty 18k top coat.

I honestly found Gilty to look best over Raven but did find it to also look nice over Purity. Gilty applys somewhat thin and needs to be built up over a few coats. I would have expected for the price for it to be a little bit thicker but i was pleased overall by the results.

As you can tell a good amount of product had to be used for only one application.

Ipsy/Glam Bag November 2012 Review and Swatches
Yes, i know it is almost the end of November and i haven't even touched on most of my subscription boxes, so the next few posts will be mainly subscription boxes.
This month Ipsy (formerly Glam Bag) themed their monthly bag as party perfect. Everything you need for a complete party look. While i had (still have!) some gripes this bag, it really does have everything you need (just about!) to be ready for holiday parties.
While this brown bag is simple and neutral, perfect to compliment just about any party outfit, it is somewhat cheaply made. The products this month were from a wide range of pretty well known brands. Two products were full size, while the other three are sample size. Earlier in the month some people recieved an email that Benefit They're Real mascara would be included in our bag, shortly after we were told it was a mistake and mainly new members received this product. While mishaps happen and most companies use the tactic of offering better products to new people to help gain a bigger customer base this is unfair to those who have been on board for a while now and are left out. On the flip side we did receive a mascara last month, so can i really stay angry? No, not so much.
What i received-
Nailtini Nail Lacquer-
This is the biggest bottle of nail poilish ive seen in a while. At first glance its a beautiful gold glitter polish with light touches of blue. I think its beautiful and perfect for a party. The wear, not so good. I had this one for less then a day before it peeled right off. To be fair though i had not used a base or top coat but this kind of quality is still pretty bad. I got semi opaque coverage with just about 2 coats. It also dried pretty quickly
The Balm- Meet Matte- Matt Batali-
This shade sample is quite small but the packaging is adorable. I like this shade over all. It feels smooth and seems easy to blend. I was able to use it without primer and still achieve full coverage. It seems like it would be good to define the eye or as a crease color. Not something i would wear all the time, but i think this would go good for a smokey eye look for a party.
Bare Minerals Moxie Lipgloss in DareDevil-
I was so excited to see this purplish red lip gloss! That is, until i tried it on. This shade, though beautiful in the tube applies nearly sheer. It has a non sticky and soft formula though so i think it is the idea gloss for a simple look. It may not be good for a party, but at least your lips will be moisturized during the colder months.
Starlet Cosmetics Intense Eyeliner in black-
This eyeliner rich in black pigments. Applies soft and does not pull on the eyelid. Easy to blend out to a smokey look. While i am getting a little tired of receiving black liners from various subscriptions i do like how this product works and it is a good essential to any makeup collection. I found the packaging to be adorable as well.
Chella Eyebrow Defining Gel-
I was only disappointed in this item because of the mascara email. After i stopped being whiny i realized this product wasn't all that bad. It is pretty much clear mascara that is applied to the brows to keep them looking well groomed.
For the past few months a discount for JustFab has been included, i haven't used mine but it does add a nice value to the bag.
Overall i thought this months bag was a great value for $10 dollars. If you are a makeup veteran, a lot of these products may just be doubles for you, whereas, if you are a rookie these types of items will help to start building your collection. Aside from the items there are the discount codes given for each product along with the Just Fab discount. Overall this is great subscription and if you would like to sign up, you can do so here!
