Saint Germain, Morange, and Up The Amp. MAC Review Swatches and Dupes

So today i figured i would focus on some bright MAC lipsticks and their dupes. I feel inclined to call this Nicki Minaj inspired since these are colors i have seen on her. Since fall is fast approaching i want to get as much bright makeup in as possible! So i hope you enjoy these final weeks of bright makeup!

MAC lipsticks can be somewhat pricey, although not as pricey as they would have been considered a few years ago when drugstore brands were still under 5 dollars (10 dollars for Revlon lipgloss, no thanks). So to help you get the MAC look on a budget i figured i would tell you about some really on the spot dupes that can give you the look and similar quality with only half the price, or less!

I'm going to start with Saint Germain-
This shade is a really creamy pastel pink. It is extremely light and bright. This shade is opaque and gives mostly even coverage. I had a little bit of streaking but it wasn't enough for me to not use it. This color is very light so if you are pale this might not work for you, same goes for if your really dark. You can fix this with blush though. If you have a light skin tone try some bronzer on your cheeks as to not let this color make you look washed out, and if you are dark skin toned try to blot it and maybe add a gloss that has a little bit darker tone and demention to it.

As for the dupe? Wet N Doll House Pink.
This is a matte shade so while Saint Germain is a satin this will not come off with any gloss or cream on your lips. To achieve a bit of shine apply light chap stick or gloss over this shade. I also suggest a little chap stick under this lipstick since many find this brand drying (I, however, do not). This shade is more pigmented than MAC. You can find it here.

This is a bright, almost neon, orange. It applies opaquely on the lips,  non streaky, and does not come off as red. I have to mention that i own both Morange and Neon Orange and Morange is more neon than Neon Orange. It is also lighter. So if you already own Neon Orange and you want a shade that is slightly lighter and more true to the name check out Morange.

Dupe- Revlon Moon Drops Orange Flip
Orange Flip is much closer to Neon Orange than Morange, but since Neon Orange is no longer available it is the closest dupe i could find. Orange Flip is more on the red side but still appears orange on the lips. It takes a few swipes to become completely opaque on the lips but does not come off streaky. You can find it here.

Last but not least, purple! Up The Amp-
MAC Up The Amp is a purple lipstick that falls more on the pink side. This is not overly opaque nor is it highly pigmented. It is rather creamy on the lips and is perfect if you want to try purple lipstick but aren't ready to commit to full on purple or purple with bluer undertones.

Dupe- Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Berry Haute-
This is the best dupe that i have mentioned so far. These shades are exactly the same color, same feel on the lips, apply the same, and have the same opacity. While this doesn't have the same vanilla smell, if you can live without that you can find this shade here.

    1. Yes it is! I didn't even realize it until after i bought up the Amp and thought to myself this looks a lot like revlon! Mac lasts longer on the lips but if you don't mind applying just a little more, revelon is a fantastic dupe!
