Maybelline Color Show Sequins Collection Review and Swatches

Maybelline Color Show Sequins
Back in November/December Maybelline released the prettiest polishes that i have seen in a good while. The Maybelline Color Show Sequins collection featured only glitter polishes! These bright and full coverage polishes were limited edition and very hard to find. I found four in my local Rite Aide I never saw them again in any other store and these were the only four of the collection i could pick up. I wish limited editions were more widely available. I don't mind products being limited in time frame but offering only one store in an area only 2 of each polish leaves a lot of people at a loss for great products.

I have to say i fell head over heels for these polishes. While i have seen similar colors mixes by different girls on Etsy and Big Cartel i do like how Maybelline really hit the nail on the head. These were perfect for the holiday season. Each one only took two coats to have completely full coverage and the glitter combinations (aside from the red) are very uncommon especially in drugstores. I found these polishes to not chip easily, lasted for about 4 days without any major touch ups (which is a lot for me) were great as top coats and by themselves and were only 5$ each making them very affordable.

805 Lavender Sparks-
This shade was favorite of the four i was able to purchase. Lavender glitter with a mix of holographic glitter made my nails look heavenly. This soft, yet gorgeous combination left me constantly looking at my nails.

830 Sapphire Masquerade -
This polish is probably one of the most unique shade i have encountered at a drugstore. This shade was a sheer blue polish that contained a thick amount of blue glitter AND red glitter. This polish gave full coverage and was not thick when applying to the nail. I like that this polish had a bit of a base which made making it opaque very easy. The glitter combination is rare but works well and i think with a light silver glitter top coat this would be great for the fourth of July. The glitter is well distributed so there is no fishing for the red glitter.

800 Ruby Rhinestones -
This sheer red based red glitter combo reminds me of Dorthy's slippers. While i have seen this combination before and used to wear a lot of red glitter polish in the past it is nice to see one with a base. Most red glitter polishes are set in a clear base and need to be applied heavily or over another polish while this can be worn on its own or as a top coat to tint and glitter another polish.

815 Gold's Night Out-
At first glance this shade is a little ordinary until you realize that this gold glitter had holographic glitter included.  It is a nice twist on the classic gold glitter holiday nail. With varying sizes of gold glitter to start with this polish really helps the nails to stand out and makes a really pretty accent nail for those who don't want to be too flashy.

Overall i loved these polishes and i sincerely wish that they were not limited edition. They dried fast, were not thick, full coverage glitter. Maybelline needs to bring these back at some point in the future. They can be currently found on sites like Ebay.
