If i made a list of the most dissapointing lipsticks ever, this would be on the top of the list. For a brand such as Yves Saint Laurent, which is a quality and classic brand, this is incredably shocking.

Let me start with the packging, the least dissapointing aspect of this entire product. The cardbord box that this lipstick comes in is shiney gold. So gold that while photographing it, it reflected back at me. The tube is plated in gold with a very classy YSL at the front opening. It is beautiful and stunning, making me with the actual product was as nice as the tubing.
Ultra shiny packaging. |

101 Violet Singulier is a lustre shade that is not at all opaque. You will need numerous sweeps across your lips to obtain a decent color. Whether you are applying the first swipe or the tenth be prepared for it to be very streaky. I understand not all products are opaque or highly pigmented, but even the lower end lustre's that i have tried have never been this streaky. It is very hard to apply a decent coverage without having it spill out of my lips. This lipstick needs a liner just to be contained. The only way i think i will ever use this lipstick is over another purple shade such as Rimmel London Lasting Finish Kate Moss shade 04 seen in this entry.
