Glossy Box December 2012 Glamour, Glitz, and Gloss Review and Swatches

I was super, super psyched about the December 2012 Glossybox. I refrained from posting because i had gotten my friend Krys one as a gift and did not want to spoil the surprise.

As someone who appreciates nice packing i couldn't help adore the wrapping paper that had little gingerbread men, wreaths and even nut crackers on it! Now that i am positing after the holidays, just looking at this paper makes me wish it was Christmas again!

This months Glossy Mag was, in my opinion, just a little more relevant to the products of the box and i enjoyed reading about some current trends and looks. I got some inspiration for the new year.

This month had great products! A nice range, great sizes, products i would enjoy and looked forward to trying. While i am still upset about the whole Illamasqua eye/lip pencil this helped to put them back in my good graces.

List of items!

Ecru New York Cosmetic Hair Care- Acacia Protein Oil
This is one of those all in one products that is hard to believe but you have to try at least once anyway. So i found that when i applied it to my hair my hair was a bit less frizzy and did feel softer to the touch. As for the split ends and reducing the drying time i did not see any significant improvement. I doubt i would ever buy this product, but it was nice to try!

Forest Essentials Luxurious Ayurveda Bath and Shower Oil-
I have always known people that swear by applying baby oil and the like on their skin after a hot shower. I never thought that was a good idea because who wants to get clean and then get all oily? Perhaps it was the whole idea of baby oil because when i tried this grown up product, i found it to be fantastic. It is an oil so there is some grease factor but it does not last long. The skin absorbs this oil fairly fast and allowed me to have super soft skin that smelled lightly of a floral scent. For $22 dollars a bottle this is something i could see myself picking up once every few months as a treat. A little of this product goes a long way so you wont have to worry about running out too soon!

A couple of months back Glossybox featured a product from Heartland Fragrances that i loved so much i bought four more! So when i saw another Heartland Fragrance product i knew it was going to be a high quality product that i would fall in love with. These are 100% pure Epsom bath salts that have a light scent. I put just a little in a warm bath and closed my eyes. While it is no miracle i did feel calmer and more comforted when compared with just a regular bath. My bath is so small i have to sit straight up with my knees locked. Being able to relax in that state is pretty nice. Imagine if you have a nice big bath to lay down in how nice this would be?

This is another brand i am a fan of. I don't style my hair with heat often but it is good to know that when i do my hair is protected.

Pleats Please By Issey Miyake-
This soft scent is a great choice for day wear. It isn't heavy and doesn't linger too much on clothes.

Zoya Storm-
When Zoya had their sale a while back i got quite a few products from their winter line. This polish was one of them. While i do wish i would have gotten another polish like Electra, one i did not already have this made a nice gift to my mother. I love this shade because it isn't a common one. Black with lots of fine holographic pigment make this a black that stands out and doesn't appear too gothic on the nails. This is one of the most beautiful blacks that i own and if you can pick this shade up before it is gone, i think you should!

Finally, Glossybox included a nice piece from Jewel Mint (The third subscription box that i know of to do so in the past two months). I received a gold and copper necklace. While not something i would pick out on my own i do like how pretty and elegant it is. I have already worn it three times so obviously it is growing on me. I am currently a Jewelmint Subscriber but i skip most months since nothing appeals to me. If i saw this product i don't think i would buy it because i don't find its worth to be $29.99 but other than price it really is a nice piece.

Overall i think i loved this month more than all of the other months since i have been subscribed. The selection was diverse and i loved how i knew half the brands, some of the products and yet some were still very new to me. Normally i would complain about a company using products or brands over and over but these brands sent out vastly different items to allow me to appreciate them more. This box also contains most of the products i would buy or already buy. So the nail was hit right on the head for me personally. I look forward to more boxes like this since i feel this was more geared toward my personality. Did you get the December box? If so what did you think?

If you would like to sign up for Glossybox it is $21 dollars a month and products are always deluxe sample size or full size. I have seen no small foil packets and the products are mostly relevant. The sturdy box is very reusable and makes storage of makeup so easy! If you would like to sign up you can do so here!
