L'Oreal 24HR Infallible Eyeshadow Complete Collection Review and Swatches

I can't lie, this wasn't a collection that i was excited about, anticipating, researching, or looking to even try. That all changed when MAC released their Electric Cool collection (which i wasn't really feeling either). I passed on Electric Cool but was still interested in what bloggers had to say about it. While some were in love with it others weren't phased by it. One blogger said that L'Oreal 24HR Infallible Eyeshadow has a similar texture (the not a cream, not a shadow, not a pigment, but applies soft). I figured i would rather try a cheaper drugstore knock off and be unhappy then try the real thing and be unhappy, i never expected to fall in love!

The first color i decided to try was 999 Eternal Black and it reminded me very much of Illusion D'ombre in Mirifique by Chanel. Dark black, highly pigmented, very glittery, creamy yet powdery, with easy blendibility for about a quarter of the price made me pretty happy. I love to buy things when they are worth it, and while Chanel is always worth it, a black that is highly used- its best to go with the cheaper one. After i tried this shade i headed over to ULTA.COM to pick up the rest. Ulta is currently having a buy two get one free, they always give free samples, and there are promo codes galore all over the internet, so if you want to pick these up for about $4.60 each with freebies that's the site to go to.

All colors sans endless sea (see bottom)
What i absolutly love about this collection is range. You can buy the entire collection for about 100 and you will have pearlesq shades, metallic shades, matte shades, and glittery shades. This collection will literally transform your makeup collection. I have a very large one and for me to say that, take it for what its worth. Even if you only add the shades you love, they are above and beyond worth it.

I decided to arrange them in the above picture to show you which shades compliment each other or blend into each other well. The shades that are horizontal are in a similar color family while the shades vertical can compliment the one above or below! Isn't OCD handy sometimes? I have swatched them in the same manner as shown in the above picture so you can see how they sit next to each other on the skin.

Bottom row, L-R- 999 Eternal Black, 996 Liquid Diamond, Middle row L-R- Continuous 891 Continuous Cocoa, 800 Bottomless Java, 888 Iced Latte, 899 Endless Peal, Top row L-R- 556 Smoldering Plum, 555 Perpetual Purple, 557 Glistening Garnet

This swatch shows the little bit of fallout but also the glitter which is small enough just to add sparkle and dimension   but doesn't over do the look. Its drama but its subtle drama.

Bottom L-R - 889 Midnight Blue, 998 Sultry Smoke, 222 Infinite Sky, Middle- 335 Golden Emerald, 333 Golden Sage, 890 Bronzed Taupe, 892 Amber Rush, 997 Eternal Sunshine

Bottom L-R - 889 Midnight Blue, 998 Sultry Smoke, 222 Infinite Sky, Middle- 335 Golden Emerald, 333 Golden Sage, 890 Bronzed Taupe, 892 Amber Rush, 997 Eternal Sunshine- these colors had very limited fallout.

All shadows are applied with primer.

On lid i applied Eternal Sunshine and on the crease blending out i applied Golden Emerald. I also used a little bit of Endless Pearl under the brow.

This color took me a while to find since it was sold out briefly at Ulta

337 Endless Sea

While these shadows are great for pigmentation, have great staying power, blend well, and are applied easily, some shades contain fall out so have your fan brush or triangle sponge handy to pick up those pigments that may fall to your cheek. In order to keep these shadows pressed and moist please do not discard your your little press inside the jar.

If you own this what colors do you have? What do you think of the formula? What color would you want to pick up? Leave some comments below!

  1. I am not all that into makeup, however, you give great reviews as well as showing the product. The best part is seeing how you have applied the product to your eyes. You do an excellent job of applying makeup.
