Disney Cinderella Storybook Eyeshadow Palette from Sephora Review and Swatches

Are you ready to be taken through a cosmetic journey of the Disney cartoon movie classic Cinderella? If you aren't you are at the wrong place! Sephora has released a limited edition collection of Disney Cinderella themed cosmetics; from eyeshadow to lipstick, perfume to nail polish, Sephora has really outdone itself. While the lipsticks are amazing, you should check out my review here! The shadows are even better.

Lets start with the packaging. Images from the movie are printed in gold silhouette over the classic light blue background inspired by Cinderella's dress. Written over the top flap, in smooth script, is "fairytales do come true"

The back shows all the colors included in this palette, each in its own little story book outline.
Once you open the box you have this beautiful book styled box with Cinderella's shadow in the background while images from her magical night are printed in gold all around her.

The side binding says Cinderella and Vol 1. I really hope that this is a line Sephora expands on adding all of the Disney princesses. Having a shelf filled with eyeshadow palettes that look like books sounds like a beautiful idea.

One you slide out the navy velvet box from its sleeve using a gold ribbon you find all the colors from the movie. These shadows lift up revealing a a space for you to put your favorite brushes or even your lipsticks from the collection.

Both these swatches are applied over prime, the top one with flash and the bottom without. The top row corresponds with the top row on the palette and the second is the same as the second row on the palette.

Top Row- L-R- Maiden, All Aglow, Destined, Cinderelly, Pumpkin Coach.
Second Row- L-R Ball Gown, Kill Joy, Fairy God Mother, Glass Slipper, Royal

Both of these swatches are applied over primer the top one with flash, the bottom without. The top row corresponds with row three in the palette (horizontal) and the bottom row is the last row on the palette.

Top Row- L-R Gus Gus, Charming, Chateau, Palace, Drizella
Bottom Row- L-R Cinders, Jaq, Midnight, A Wish, Rocco

On a whole these eyeshadow are amazing. Great pigmentation and lasting power. The shades that contain micro shimmer (Maiden, Cinders, Midnight, and Rocco) have a small amount of fall out, so dab this color on to make the fallout minimal. The peal/shimmer shades (All Aglow, Ball Gown, Gus Gus, Charming, Chateau, Palace, Drizella, and Jaq) all are very soft and easy to blend so you will only need to swipe a small amount on to your lid (if you are using primer, more so if it is on a bare lid). Kill Joy and Destined are a tiny bit iridescent. The matte shades (Cinderelly, Pumpkin Coach, Fairy God Mother, Glass Slipper, Glassy Slipper (semi matte) Royal, and A Wish) are not chalky at all in my experience with them. They deliver the highest color payoff but at little more difficult to blend then the pearl/shimmer shades. Overall all the colors are easy to work with and do have good color payoff.

A look i created using Fairy Godmother for my lid, Ball gown under my brow, Chateau in my crease, and Midnight on the outer V to define. I also lined the inner corer of my eye with Fairy Godmother.

  1. Ugh I'm so bitter that you have these and I don't! I wish I had the Gs to buy this! The packaging is so awesome, and it's great that you really like the shadows too.

    1. This book is a bit pricey, i think it costs more than it needs to cost. But if you can pick up this or even the smaller 4 shadow quad they are quite lovly.
